Welcome to the Tradesailer project.
This project is aimed at designing the next generation wind propelled trading ships to reduce the impact of shipping on the climate. Wind has been used for centuries as the preferred propulsion of ships sailing the world seas. These vessels where fast for their time and optimized for their sailing routes and cargo. This development was stopped when coal powered ships made their entry, followed by diesel fuel driven vessels.
With this project I want to start the further development of wind powered trading vessels by using the latest developments in hull design, structural optimisation and navigation by using routing tools.
I am taking you on a design journey and together we can determine de future fleet of wind propelled trading vessels.
